Sinn is a company best known for its pilot and dive watches, and deservedly so. They make some of the most durable and practical watches on the market and do so at a very reasonable price point. The 1746 Klassik is a watch that certainly stands out from the rest of their lineup. Amongst all the tegimented pilot watches and the robust diver's watches is this elegant and attractive dress watch. Sinn has done a really great job with this piece and I think it needs to get a little more attention.
I have always admired this watch and even more so now that I have sen one in person. While this may be a dress watch at first glance, it's still a Sinn, which means its built to last and is made with impeccable quality. The stainless steel case has a water resistance rating to 100m and is also anti-magnetic. How many dress watches can boast that? The case is 42mm wide, but wears larger due to the thin bezel. It also sits very nicely on the wrist with a profile only 9.4mm thick. The dial is white enamel lacquer with black hands, roman numerals and a quick-change date at 6 o'clock. Through the anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal, the stark contrast of black elements on a white dial give you perfect legibility and timeless style. Inside the case you will find the tried and true ETA 2892-A2 automatic movement that you can see beating away at 28,800 vph through the sapphire crystal caseback. Sinn then complements all of this with an alligator pattern embossed, calf leather strap with a tang buckle.
All in all, the Sinn 1746 Klassik is a great dress watch that will stand out but never get old. It is also a great value, priced around $2300 you won't find many other watches out there that can compete with this one. If you are in the market for a dress watch you really cannot go wrong with the Sinn 1746 Klassik. Its style and function will last for years to come.
